Dr.  Carolyn Hayles is the Senior Programme Officer, Institute for Hospitality and Tourism in the School for Graduate Studies and Research, University of the West Indies where she lectures in sustainable tourism and marketing in the U.W.I. Sc Tourism and Hospitality Management degree programme.

Dr. Hayles has extensive experience in the management of tourism in Jamaica. She was a part of the team that developed the Carrying Capacity Study for Jamaica’s Master Plan for Sustainable Tourism Development.

Dr. Hayles is an experienced consultant having executed several assignments throughout the Caribbean including the development of guidelines for community tourism, market research on agro-tourism in Jamaica and strategic planning.

She recently completed a doctoral degree in Sustainable Development with an emphasis on tourism policy at the University of the West Indies.
