Thousands Expected for 4th Staging of Air Jamaica Day at Powerade Center in Brampton, Ontario
Kingston, Jamaica – July 31, 2007 – Some 15 exhibitors are expected to participate in the first Travel, Tourism and Trade Village, a new feature at Air Jamaica Day this year, to be held on Monday, August 6, 2007 starting at 1:00 pm on the grounds of the Powerade Center in Brampton, Ontario.
The mini exhibition will see representatives from Air Jamaica Cargo, 7th Heaven Rewards, the Jamaica Tourist Board, Sandals, Port Royal Music Festival, Superclubs and a number of other organizations participating.
This is the fourth staging of Air Jamaica Day and this year coincides with the 45th anniversary of Jamaica’s Independence.
Air Jamaica Day is a family event that brings together Caribbean nationals, a majority of whom are Jamaicans to celebrate the best of Jamaica’s culture through food, the arts, craft, music and dance while creating an awareness of the goods and services available in their adopted communities and Jamaica.
Air Jamaica’s Manager of Community and Special Markets Kaye Chong says, “Air Jamaica Day started out as a means of giving back to the community and we have been pleased with the overwhelming response. The Canadian market has been growing steadily over the years and we owe it our loyal Caribbean nationals who represent a huge part of our customer base.”
Additional sponsors include Jamaica National Building Society, Ting, Play Soccer, Sandals and Beaches Resorts, Jamaica National Money Transfer, People’s Telecom, Victoria Mutual Building Society, Western Union, Grace, Senvia, Canada Extra, Port Royal Music Festival and the Jamaica Tourist Board.
Fab 5 Band will be the featured entertainment this year. Korexion and other Canadian artists will also share the stage.
